The Launch of Proton Saga in Pakistan

Proton Saga, the number one car of Malaysia, was launched in Pakistan on 4th April 2021 via a glittering virtual ceremony hosted by Mansha Pasha. Proton SAGA brings with it a heritage spanning over three decades.

In Pakistan, Proton has partnered with Al Haj Automotive Private limited to locally assemble and build Proton Vehicles through its state-of-the art vehicle assembly plant in Karachi. The plant which is which is nearing its completion will have a production capacity of 25,000 units per annum. The company plans to extend its product range during the next two years..

The virtual launch ceremony was graced by the attendance of the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, Mr. Ikram Muhammad Ibrahim. The ambassador in his message on behalf of Malaysian government promised to extend complete support to their partners in Pakistan. The ambassador stated in his online message.

“I hope Proton’s operations in Pakistan will further strengthen economic ties between the two countries.”

Hilal Khan Afridi, CEO of Al-Haj Automotive, thanked the customers for reposing their trust in the brand. “I am thankful to our fellow Pakistanis for making Proton SAGA an instant success in Pakistan. This car will definitely stand out for its reliability, durability and value for money.”

Saga which is an acronym for Safety, Achievement, Greatness and Ability is Malaysia’s number one car since its inception 35 years ago. The current model is the sixth generation of Saga being launched in three variants that are Standard MT, Automatic Transmission and Ace. There is also a limited edition of SAGA namely R3 which stands for Racing, Rally & Research.
